The Cottage - History & Comfort Combined

The cottage is a lovely place to stay. It is a listed building, and the accommodation is in the oldest part of the building, which dates back to the 16th century. The old stone walls are very thick, making it wonderfully comfortable whatever the weather - warm and cosy in the winter, cool and calm in the summer.

The original features have been preserved and the décor is tastefully restrained, using pastel colours and with plenty of original wood on show. Overall, the feeling is of a traditional building with all the comforts we have come to expect.

The hallway opens onto a sitting room and dining room, with a connecting kitchen, with the bedrooms upstairs. The heating is by night storage heaters and a log burner in the sitting room, which together the thick stone walls make The cottage comfortable throughout the year.

There is a private courtyard which is a lovely suntrap - guests are welcome to sit out here for breakfast or evening meals, or just to while away an hour or two with a good book!
